When embalming is the right call
Two situations, mainly. The first is time: relatives travelling from another country or another state, where the family needs several days rather than several hours. The second is distance: a long road or air journey where refrigeration alone is not enough. If neither applies to you, a freezer box on its own is usually sufficient, and we will say so.
How it is arranged
Embalming is not something you book from a dropdown. Call dispatch, describe the situation — where the departed is now, who is travelling and from where, and where the final journey ends. We will tell you whether embalming is needed, whether it is already covered by the freezer package you are considering, and what it involves.

What we will not tell you over a web page
We do not publish a standalone embalming rate here, because what is involved varies by case and a figure on a page would be a guess dressed up as a quote. Nor will we state what a particular hospital, crematorium or airline will require — those vary by facility, and a family acting on the wrong information loses time they cannot spare. How to book an ambulance

For an emergency, calling is fastest — dispatch answers 24/7. For a planned transfer you can book online and choose pickup, drop and ambulance type yourself.

Tell us what the patient needs, or choose in the booking form. If you are unsure, describe the situation on the call and we will advise which vehicle is appropriate.
Track it to your door
Once a unit is assigned you get live GPS tracking and a pickup OTP, so you can watch the ambulance approaching instead of guessing.

Is embalming included with the freezer box?
With the longer duration packages, yes. The table above is read live from our pricing system and marks exactly which durations include it.
Can I get embalming without renting a freezer box?
Call and ask. It depends on the case, and we would rather discuss it than publish a rate that may not apply to you.
Do I need embalming if relatives arrive tomorrow?
Usually not — a freezer box covers a wait of that length. We will tell you honestly rather than sell you something you do not need.
Is embalming required for transporting a body to another city?
It depends on the distance, the mode of travel and the receiving facility's requirements. Tell us the destination on the call and we will advise for your specific journey.
